Exterior Painting

The Season is here and soon exterior painting will begin.  Before any exterior painting is performed, there are necessary measures to be taken to ensure a long lasting paint job.

Preparation   

It is important that the surface area is properly prepared prior to application of any paint.  The first step is to begin with a clean surface. You don't want any contaminants that will later cause issues with the new paint job.  The Paint Bros takes the necessary steps to ensure everything is done properly without rushing through the job.  

After a clean surface area, it is critical to patch any holes or cracks.  In some cases,  you will need to sand or scrape peeling paint.  Again, you want to give attention to all the detail areas that need repair.  This process will aid against moisture buildup in areas that can potentially cause your newly painted home to fail.  There are many products on the market that assist with moisture blocking and peeling.  This would be the best time to apply prior to the topcoat.

The key here is proper preparation.  This applies to any project you are working on.  It is not the matter of who can do it faster, but rather who can do it right.

Exterior colors fade

 Do some exterior colors fade more quickly? The short answer is, yes.  Some exterior colors tend to fade more quickly.  Some of these colors are yellows, blues, greens, and reds.  There are several variables that aid exterior paint fade to occur.  Some of the variables may include damage by direct sunlight (UV), inferior quality paint and location of property.
