The type of paint you choose is important The type of paint you choose for your home improvement project is very important.  Yes, it is important as much as your choice of color.  There are a lot of paint manufactures out there, some names are well known and some are regional.  In this article we will not name each paint manufacture, but instead focus on the differences between higher end paint and general standard paint.  To begin with, many professional painters prefer to use a single paint manufacture for most if not all their jobs.  The reasoning for this is that the painter will be more familiar with the product performance.  Most DIYs or homeowners may not be willing to pay the extra cost to purchase a higher end paint.  There may be many reasons for this decision.  It may be a financial decision or they are not well versed in paint differences.  At the end of the day, you get what you pay for. Exterior colors fade

 Do some exterior colors fade more quickly? The short answer is, yes.  Some exterior colors tend to fade more quickly.  Some of these colors are yellows, blues, greens, and reds.  There are several variables that aid exterior paint fade to occur.  Some of the variables may include damage by direct sunlight (UV), inferior quality paint and location of property. Overtime, direct sunlight, or ultraviolet rays (UV), will destroy the color pigment in paint.  As a result, you may notice a huge change between the shaded parts of your home exterior compared to a fully exposed side.  The same is true for artificial light and its effect on works of art.  If allowed to persist long enough with paint, the damage will begin to show a bleached look.  If left unprotected even longer, eventually cracks will begin forming allowing for water to penetrate causing further damage.  There are many qualities of paint available to consumers on the market.  Choosing the right one, will give you the advantage.
