Exterior colors fade

Do some exterior colors fade more quickly? The short answer is, yes.  Some exterior colors tend to fade more quickly.  Some of these colors are yellows, blues, greens, and reds.  There are several variables that aid exterior paint fade to occur.  Some of the variables may include damage by direct sunlight (UV), inferior quality paint and location of property. Overtime, direct sunlight, or ultraviolet rays (UV), will destroy the color pigment in paint.  As a result, you may notice a huge change between the shaded parts of your home exterior compared to a fully exposed side.  The same is true for artificial light and its effect on works of art.  If allowed to persist long enough with paint, the damage will begin to show a bleached look.  If left unprotected even longer, eventually cracks will begin forming allowing for water to penetrate causing further damage.  There are many qualities of paint available to consumers on the market.  Choosing the right one, will give you the advantage.
